Terms of Service

Last updated: June 24, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Glass Jar app and related services ("Glass Jar", "we", "us"). Glass Jar helps people and groups see and understand their shared spending. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Glass Jar.

1. Who can use Glass Jar

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) and able to form a binding agreement. If you use Glass Jar on behalf of a household, group, or organization, you represent that you're authorized to do so.

2. Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You can sign in with email and password, or with Apple or Google — using those providers is also subject to their respective terms.

3. What Glass Jar is — and isn't

Glass Jar is a tool for visibility into spending: tracking what was spent, who paid, balances, and insights. It is not a bank, payment processor, money transmitter, tax preparer, or provider of financial, investment, accounting, or legal advice. Balances and "who owes whom" figures are informational summaries based on the data you enter — they do not move money or create binding financial obligations. Always verify important numbers yourself.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the spending data, files, and other content you add ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the service for you and the workspace members you share it with. You're responsible for having the right to upload what you add, and for what you choose to share into a shared workspace, where it becomes visible to other members subject to that workspace's settings.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Third-party services

Glass Jar relies on third parties (for example, cloud hosting, and optional sign-in or bank aggregation providers such as Apple, Google, Teller, or Plaid). Your use of those features may be subject to their terms, and we aren't responsible for third-party services we don't control.

7. Fees

If we offer paid features in the future, the price and billing terms will be shown before you purchase, and purchases made through the App Store are also governed by Apple's terms. Unless stated otherwise, the service is currently provided free of charge, and we may change what is offered for free over time.

8. Termination

You can stop using Glass Jar and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the service. If you're the owner of a shared workspace, deleting your account also deletes that workspace and its data for everyone in it.

9. Disclaimers

Glass Jar is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any insight or balance will be accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Glass Jar and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $100.

11. Changes to the service or these Terms

We may update the service and these Terms as the app evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Glass Jar operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Some consumer-protection rights may not be waivable where you live, and nothing here limits those.

Note: These Terms are a clear, good-faith starting template — before public launch, have them reviewed by legal counsel and tailor them to your final business entity, governing jurisdiction, pricing, and the exact third-party providers you use.
